Dr. Young was raised in Mentor, Ohio. He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio earning a baccalaureate degree in Microbiology Immunology. He then attended Ohio State University College of Dentistry, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. There he realized he had an interest in trauma and reconstructive surgery, leading him to pursue an advanced medical and surgical education. He received a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Young graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Honor Society. Upon completion of his medical and surgical education he completed an internship in General Surgery with a specialty certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Young completed a Fellowship in Facial and General Cosmetic Surgery at the Institute of Facial and Cosmetic Surgery in Murray, Utah. Dr. Young is an associate member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, a board eligible member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a member of the American Medical Association, and a Diplomate of the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology. He has a published manuscript in "Special Care Dentistry" and wrote several sections from the text Avoiding Common Surgical Errors.
In 2003, Dr.Young participated in medical and dental missions in Hue, Vietnam, Jerusalem, Israel, and overseas rotations in Head and Neck Oncology at the Osaka City Hospital in Osaka, Japan.
The scope of Dr. Young's practice includes Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery procedures, trauma and reconstructive surgery, Temporomandibular Joint surgery (TMJ), Oral Implantology, Orthognathic surgery (jaw repositioning), dentoalveolar surgery, and pathology surgery. His list of procedures also includes facial cosmetic surgery, liposuction, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), facelifts, rhinoplasty, endoscopic brow lifts, neck lifts, fat transfer and a full range of dermal fillers and Botox.
