About UsDebbie Urig, a long time resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico, grew up in a household where lifestyle revolved around healthy living. Both of her parents were active in alternative health practices. She was encouraged to know and research information about nutrition. She continues this practice through her adult life.In 1974, she met Ed Urig and they were married shortly thereafter. In 1986, she and Dr. Urig opened their practice. Years later, they shared their office space with another doctor whose services included cosmetic procedures. That is when the idea started to percolate. Why not skin care? It would be the perfect complement to Dr. Urig's growing oral surgery and cosmetic procedure practice. For the next 12 years, Debbie trained with a world renowned skin care company called Bio-Medic which later merged with La Roche-Posay. She was able to study with Dr. Murad, Susan Obagi and Dr. Fam, all experts in the area of advanced skin care. Seeing the need for women in the southwest to preserve and care for their skin. Debbie began customizing skin care programs and recommending procedures that would work with women's lifestyles. In 2003, she put into action her concept for a facility that could accommodate oral surgery and facial enhancements. Three years later her vision became a reality: Bonita Medical Center, a beautiful building with a wing dedicated to skin care. Dr. Justin Young, DDS, MDDr. Young was raised in Mentor, Ohio. He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio earning a baccalaureate degree in Microbiology Immunology. He then attended Ohio State University College of Dentistry, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. There he realized he had an interest in trauma and reconstructive surgery, leading him to pursue an advanced medical and surgical education. He received a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Young graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Honor Society. Upon completion of his medical and surgical education he completed an internship in General Surgery with a specialty certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.Dr. Young completed a Fellowship in Facial and General Cosmetic Surgery at the Institute of Facial and Cosmetic Surgery in Murray, Utah. Dr. Young is an associate member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, a board eligible member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a member of the American Medical Association, and a Diplomate of the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology. He has a published manuscript in "Special Care Dentistry" and wrote several sections from the text Avoiding Common Surgical Errors. In 2003, Dr.Young participated in medical and dental missions in Hue, Vietnam, Jerusalem, Israel, and overseas rotations in Head and Neck Oncology at the Osaka City Hospital in Osaka, Japan. The scope of Dr. Young's practice includes Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery procedures, trauma and reconstructive surgery, Temporomandibular Joint surgery (TMJ), Oral Implantology, Orthognathic surgery (jaw repositioning), dentoalveolar surgery, and pathology surgery. His list of procedures also includes facial cosmetic surgery, liposuction, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), facelifts, rhinoplasty, endoscopic brow lifts, neck lifts, fat transfer and a full range of dermal fillers and Botox. Dr. Edward Urig, DMD, MSDr. Urig grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He went to the University of Northern Colorado on a football scholarship but later turned his attention to Chemistry. He went on to do graduate work in Biochemistry at the University of New Mexico. He attended dental school at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he received the faculty award for excellence in Pediatric Dentistry and was inducted into the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.Dr. Urig completed General Practice Residency at Harvard Medical School at the Brockton V.A. Medical Center. He moved to California to do a residency in Prosthodontics at UCLA Dental School at the Wadsworth V.A. Medical Center. He then completed his Oral and Maxillofacial residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and received his masters' degree and extensive training in orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery), preprosthetic surgery, bone grafting, facial trauma, TMJ surgery and dental implants. Dr Urig is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons. Also he is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He has coauthored articles in the Journal of Neurosurgery and the Journal of Rheumatology. Dr. Urig has been practicing in Santa Fe since 1986. It is of great importance to him be active in the community, he has volunteered his services for the last 23 years at Villa Therese Catholic Clinic and is a member of the cleft palate team for Children's Medical Services. The scope of Dr. Urig's practice includes dental implant surgery, wisdom teeth extractions, bone grafting, oral pathology and facial cosmetic procedures including laser treatments, chin liposuction, Botox and fillers.
