Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty corrects sagging eyelids, bags or pouches beneath the eyes, as well as excess folds around the eyes. This surgical procedure involves the removal of excess skin, muscle and fat on upper and lower eyelids. This procedure is done under IV sedation.

Dr. Young traces the natural lines and creases of your face and makes incisions from the inner to the outer edge of the eyelid. Surgery on the upper eyelid is performed first with the incision made in the fold of the lid. The incision is made below the eyelash on the lower eyelid. Any excess fat and skin are removed from the underlying area. The amount of fat excised is determined by the degree of protrusion of fat when pressure is applied to the area. The result is a natural refreshed look around the eyes.Small sutures are used to close the incision. In certain cases, lower eyelid incisions are made inside the lid. The surgery can take up to 2 hours. This is an out patient procedure and depending on the complexity of the surgery will be performed at either Bonita Medical Center or Physicians Medical Center of Santa Fe. Facial Liposuction

Facial Liposuction is a very common procedure. It is designed for the removal of fatty tissue from your cheeks, chin, and neck. The procedure allows Dr. Young to remove undesirable, subcutaneous fat in specific areas that do not respond to diet and exercise. Patients with good skin tone with fatty deposits receive the best results from facial liposuction. If weight gain occurs following liposuction, the fat will be deposited in areas that have not been treated. Also, you might notice rippling in the treated areas, depending on your skin elasticity.

To maintain the safety of the procedure, there is a limit of how much can be done at one time. The results of liposuction are permanent. Many factors affect the results; physical condition, genetic makeup, diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol intake, and skin elasticity.

Facial liposuction is done under IV sedation. Small incisions are made in the face or neck. A cannula is inserted into a small incision and attached to a suction machine. This is an out patient procedure and depending on the complexity of the surgery will be performed at either Bonita Medical Center or Physicians Medical Center of Santa Fe This procedure can take an hour or more.

Mentoplasty (Chin)

The chin and lower jaw are key to an aesthetically pleasing profile. Many patients have a recessive chin, or lack of proper protrusion of the chin. At the initial office visit, your profile will be evaluated and x-rays and photos are taken in order to properly diagnosis the problem. Surgery improves the shape and size of the chin and natural appearance. Chin augmentation involves adding to the pre-existing chin with different implants made of silicone. or modifying the existing bony structure.

Surgery is performed with IV sedation. The procedure is done either through an incision in the mouth or under the chin, depending on what type of augmentation or reshaping procedure is performed. Following the surgery, a dressing (jaw bra) will be placed around the chin and face to support the area. This is an out patient procedure and depending on the complexity of the surgery will be performed at either Bonita Medical Center or Physicians Medical Center of Santa Fe This procedure can take an hour or more.

Malarplasty (Cheek)

Facial appearance depends not only on the quality of the skin, but also bone structure. The middle third of the face consists of the cheekbones and the upper jaw. By reshaping and augmenting the cheeks, one can improve the facial appearance. Sometimes cheek augmentation will be combined with other procedures to enhance the over all look.

Cheek augmentation is performed with IV sedation. Incisions are placed above the upper teeth to expose the upper jaw and cheekbone region. Following this, placement of a cheek implant will be placed over the cheek area. This is an out patient procedure and depending on the complexity of the surgery will be performed at either Bonita Medical Center or Physicians Medical Center of Santa Fe This procedure can take an hour or more.

Rhytidectomy (Facelift)

These procedures are performed under IV sedation or general anesthesia depending on your health status. Incisions are made in the hairline at the temple, in front of the earlobe, and behind the earlobe into the scalp. The loose skin is separated and removed, and the underlying muscle is tightened for a natural, smooth appearance. Additionally, the muscles of the neck are tightened, and if needed, fat is removed from areas of the face and below the chin. Small sutures on the skin and below the skin are used to close the incisions. The procedure usually lasts about 5-6 hours depending on the complexity and whether other procedures are performed during the same surgery.

Rhinoplasty (Nasal Surgery)

A rhinoplasty is performed to reshape the bones, cartilage and skin of the nose for cosmetic or functional reasons. The majority of people who have this procedure desire the removal of a "hump" or reshaping of the tip of the nose. Others undergo the procedure in order to breather better through the nose. This procedure is performed under IV sedation or general anesthesia. Typically, there is a small incision made under the nose above the lip.

Juvéderm Ultra Plus®

Juvéderm Ultra Plus is a hyaluronic acid filler that targets lines around the mouth and lips. The end result is smooth and natural looking and may last as long as 6-12 months.

Restylane®/Perlane

Restylane and Perlane are non-animal based stabilized hyaluronic acid fillers. Both are used for deep lines such as the nasolabial folds or the fine lines around the mouth. Lip enhancements with Restylane® result in soft, full, natural looking lips which may last as long as 6 -12 months

Radiesse®

Radiesse is unique among fillers used to enhance the face. It offers a combination of benefits unavailable with other approaches. This innovative filler can be used for facial sculpting to enhance cheekbones, depressions, blemishes and acne scars. Radiesse also effectively targets lines between the nose and mouth and eyebrows. Results may last as long as 18 months without repetitive treatments.

Laser Hair Reduction

Laser Hair Reduction is a medical procedure that uses an intense, pulsating beam of light to remove unwanted hair. In most cases, laser hair removal slows hair regrowth, but it takes several treatments to provide an extended "hair-free" period.

Affirm

Affirm is a fractional laser treatment that by using two laser lengths tightens the skin, targets fine wrinkles and stimulates natural collagen.

Botox

Botox is injected into the muscles to smooth and soften existing expression lines that may give the appearance of being tired or angry.

Fractional CO2

Fractional CO2 is a safe, more aggressive treatment modality for age spots, hyperpigmentation and deep facial wrinkles. This procedure is instrumental in augmenting natural collagen synthesis.

IPL or Photofacial

IPL or Photofacial is an extremely safe form of intense pulsed light that treats dark spots and restores a consistent look and feel to the skin.
